ARMA-Q members to be revealed next month

Has Peverel / FirstPort made the cut to join ARMA’s ethically enhanced membership scheme? Or Countrywide? We won’t know until next month, unless the companies themselves indicate that they are accredited – as is the case with the LKP member HML Holdings plc.

‘Glib-tongued’ Cirrus in £26,071 works at Homefarris House

This letter from resident Anne Curran was posted in a comment on LKP, but is of more relevance to Campaign against retirement leasehold exploitation. Any advice can be posted below, or send to sok@leaseholdknowledge.com  and it will be forwarded. Doubtless after the issue has been raised publicly the dissidents of Homefarris House can expect a visit from […]

Cooee! Peverel becomes FirstPort and is heading for ARMA-Q … But will it be welcome?

Like the unwanted guest at a party, Peverel has put on some outlandish new clothes and now seeks to crash ARMA-Q. It is rolling out its new FirstPort brand, which means when you click on the Peverel website you are passed on to a new site. The change in name is taking place a year […]

No change over Cirrus scam, says Entwistle, even though suing Peverel is an open goal for 65 sites

Janet Entwistle, the chief executive of Peverel (soon to be reborn as FirstPort), has ruled out mediation with retirement residents scammed in the Cirrus collusive tendering scandal. Any “unhappy individuals” should make a complaint directly to her, she says in minutes of a meeting with Campaign against retirement leasehold exploitation on October 10. Having orchestrated […]

AgeUK: Retirement leasehold IS NOT WORKING and needs urgent reform

– Self-regulation (by ARHM, ARMA, RICS) has failed – Leasehold tenure itself disempowers residents and makes them vulnerable – Commonhold should be explored – Right to manage needs to be made easier for the elderly – LEASE’s ‘problematic’ role serving all sides in leasehold – CMA’s skimpy Ipsos MORI poll ‘should not be used as the basis […]

FirstPort – which was Peverel last week – makes debut in Private Eye

The satirical magazine Private Eye has featured Peverel’s name-change to FirstPort today. Referring to previous reports on Peverel as see “Eyes passim ad nauseam” it treats readers to a resume of Peverel’s recent unfortunate history. “FirstPort may turn out to be LastResort for the troubled management company,” is the pessimistic conclusion.

Peverel rebrand: is something up for sale?

The new company structure after the Peverel rebrand strongly suggests something is going to be sold. A useful schematic of the existing and future company structures is given here and above:

Any port in a storm … as Peverel changes its name to FirstPort

In what appears a desperate measure, Peverel is renaming itself FirstPort. In an announcement today all its property services businesses will be rebranded FirstPort, uniting them together under one brand. An expensive logo is doubtless underway, and be prepared for a deluge of queasy photographs of elderly residents in a state of rapture and joy. It […]

Former leading executives of Peverel have set up a new company, Freemont Property Management. Headed by former Peverel CEO Nigel Bannister and former head of Peverel Retirement Keith Edgar, the company is registered to an office in Lymington in Hampshire. It has already secured the management of the large Aqua site on the waterfront in Poole, Dorset.

Janet Entwistle says no staff ‘involved directly’ in Cirrus scam – or even ‘linked’ – are still employed

Janet Entwistle, the Peverel CEO, assured Campaign against retirement leasehold exploitation earlier this year that no one involved directly in the Cirrus price-fixing scam – or even “linked” – was still employed by the company. Janet Entwistle’s was speaking at a meeting with Campaign against retirement leasehold exploitation / LKP at the Commons on February […]

Private Eye reports Peverel re-employing Cirrus stooge Glyn Jackson

Private Eye today reports the Campaign against retirement leasehold exploitation story of OFT price-fixing cheat Glyn Jackson being re-employed at a Peverel site. Jackson, whose company went into liquidation and so avoided an OFT fine of £35,700, is back at work at the Adelphi site in Harrogate, which is managed by Peverel. He won’t be […]
